Dear Bensen Ray Johnson,
I am your Great Aunt Gaylene. I heard from your grandmother, Laura, that you had been born about 12:45 P.M. on Saturday, November 25. You weighed 6 lbs. 14 oz. I am so glad you are here! Your mother was so exhausted with your birth that I waited until today, Sunday, November 26 to see you. When I arrived, your Uncle Dayson and his girlfriend were visiting. Your proud uncle is taking in as much of you as he can. He knows he will be missing your first two years of growing up when he leaves on his mission this coming summer. Grandma Laura was there helping take care of you. Later Grandpa Randy came holding you tenderly.
Great-Grandma Norma, Great Aunts Lori and Sherrie were already visiting, too. Great Aunt Lori and Alexus Johnson visited you earlier bringing a cute Levi overalls outfit. Uncle Darin stayed away today so he wouldn’t make you sick.
A soft, white bear (sized like you) with a red Christmasy hat and scarf brought me to the hospital. You are beautiful! You have dark, wavy hair about three inches long. We love holding and rocking your cuddly body. You lovingly snuggle into your soft blanket Grandma Laura gave you with your white hat keeping you warm. Many of us enjoyed holding and cuddling you -- especially me. I cannot tell you enough how good it feels to have a new baby in our family. We have not had a new baby since your cousin, Alex, was born over fourteen years ago.
You are so welcome to your parents and all of us. Your dad has been at the hospital since the doctor started inducing your mom’s labor Friday evening. He is protective of both you and your mom. Your tired, sore mom went through a lot bringing your body and spirit here. I don’t think they totally realize they are parents yet, but they love you deeply.
We all do!
Welcome to our world, Bensen!
Love, Gaylene
