Yesterday Mom and I met several cousins, aunts and uncles at one of my favorite places on earth, DeAnna Hulme's home (a cousin.) There's something that's so peaceful about the surroundings there. I love her home surrounded by mountains and hills that are especially green this time of year. Actually when we arrived she had at least three inches of snow on her grass. The mountains were covered. The farms getting there were greener than I ever remember. The trees in their nice row on her property bring me comfort just to see them. I love all the windows in her family room that let in bright light. It matches Deanna's shining eyes and bright smile.
More relatives came than we had expected. We didn't decide ourselves to go until the last minute knowing it was stormy, but the warmth inside with family and good food made it all worthwhile. I love going to Avon!
Cache Valley feels a part of me although I've never lived there. All my pioneer ancestors settled there so many pieces of my spirit still reside there. When we go to the Paradise Cemetery I look at the surrounding mountains and feel centered and peaceful. My resting place for a future time lies there. My body will be resurrected from that spot. I can't think of a more beautiful place to pull my bones together than Paradise.
