Cubs With Clay

Thank you Carol and DeAnna

Yikes, a snake!

Rolling Tootsie Roll clay pieces

On Tuesday, June 14 the Paradise 1st Ward Cub Scouts went to learn another clay technique. It was a fun privilege to join them. Carol, the clay expert, taught the boys how to make a frog using rolled clay. She's truly remarkable in the way she pinches the clay to get an ankle or expression. After her demo, the boys began their own frog making.

They were so creative! Here's the results ready for firing.

DeAnna's Country Home

There has been a place I've always loved
since first being there
 ~ DeAnna and Lynn's home.~

I always feel happy, and peaceful because of the bright spirit in their home.

It's so welcoming!

Always prepared for guests.
It's nestled in rolling hills surrounding while trees protect the home horses gracefully graze.
Baking & cooking ingredients peak out of white, glass front country cupboards.
Big windows let in the south sun and beautiful views.

DeAnna & Lynn's home is a welcoming, heartwarming
place to be.

Being a lucky lady I enjoyed this beautiful place from Friday night, June 10 thru Wednesday morning, June 15, 2011.  I am truly blessed!
Thank you, DeAnna & Lynn for your
love, warmth and caring.

Avon ~ A Place of Beauty

"Old Paradise"

Avon

~A Place of Beauty & Peace
I love Avon with its green rolling hills, farmland with cows roaming, and horses long necks grazing gracefully.

With scattered homes, farmland hills, and little traffic,
it's quiet and peaceful.
Avon was named "Paradise" by
Ezra T. Benson~
now at times called
"Old Paradise."

A beautiful place~

a peaceful place~

~Surely a little piece
of heaven~

A Filly ~ Little Lady

Six weeks ago a filly was born and now has sturdy legs of her own.  DeAnna knew it was time to get the pony used to human touch and brushing.
Separating the mother on one side from her filly made the pony nervous, but mother grazed peacefully and loved being touched on her forehead.  I fed the filly lettuce from my hand.  DeAnna brushed her.  She even crossed a rope to let herself out of the small corral joining her mother for a sunset gallop, then fed joyfully from her.

What a beautiful site to watch the filly gaining trust!

Hulme's Barn Dance

Lynn and DeAnna Hulme

The Hulme's Barn Dance is a great event!
A nice evening of cookie treats, homemade  rootbeer, and conversation while enjoying the barn itself while a western & contemporary band provide good music.

The beautiful setting outside as well as the barn scene inside set a great environment.

I had a great time people watching, taking pictures, enjoying the music, and loving the dancers very young to old
(though young at heart.)  Perhaps 200+ people attended.
It seems they all came to enjoy each other
and a beautiful night.

Wipeout--What a great drummer!
I feel lucky to have been a listener & observer enjoying each minute.
